“ This is a dive bar. You must accept this. A five star review of a dive bar is not on the same star scale as a fine dining restaurant or gastro pub. It's like trying to decide who would win- the Cubs vs the Denver Broncos. Not even the same sport. It's not comparable. In terms of dive bars in and near the downtown area, this place is a a clear cut winner. Open late. A million TVs all playing sports. Free popcorn. An excellent beer list including everything from blue collar staples to craft beer specialties. And the food is damn good. Of course it's bar food, but I challenge you to find better wings and fries in the South Loop. And to top it off, the kitchen is open til 4am. As far as late night options go, you can't beat this place. ”
“ It's a dive bar so don't set your expectations too high, that been said I totally love it. The location is great, they have a good beer selection, reasonable prices, they have greasy food, they have free popcorn and they have sports playing on the TVs, what else can you ask for? It is true the place looks a little unkept, to be honest to me it's just looks like a really old dive bar which I find kinda cool. If you want an upscale bar with instagramable food 2twenty2 or Cindy's are not too far. ”
“ Nice classic bar. Accidentally stumbled on this place. Our Hippster waiter named Chris was a solid guy with extensive knowledge of the "in" Chicago hoods. Cold beers, burgers and bang for the buck. You cant beat that. ”
“ For a quick meal on a late night South Loop Club (SLC) is a decent option if you are staying at a hotel nearby as a lot of the food establishments in the near close at midnight. SLC was open when we needed food after 12:00 A.M. This location has a carryover food side and a sit down and dine inside that features bar seating or table seating. The high top tables feature 4 seats per table but they do allow you to group the tables together for parties larger than 4. It could be a bit noisy if it is crowded but there is no loud music playing that you have to compete with if dining parties are large and loud. Our server was friendly and attentive making sure we got our food timely as well as making sure we did not need any additional food or drinks as we ate our meal. They do have a variety of food available for varying tastes. Falafel to burgers to seafood to wings to Italian sausage. Curly fries come with most of the entrees but you can substitute them out for other sides like sweet potato fries which I heard was really good. They do have popcorn available for you to munch on while waiting for food or for just eating if you are just there to enjoy a drink. The popcorn is free. SLC has a nice beer selection. I saw about 10-15 beers on tap and the complete list was close 40 per the large wall boards on both sides of the dine in side. On the table they list several cocktails and they even had one of the spirits I was able to sample at Yelp event. Definitely cool! Even if a cocktail is not listed, they encourage you to ask for what you want and if they have the spirit they are pretty sure they can honor your request. ”
